How long before your period can you tell if your pregnant?

I've had unprotected sex with my boyfriend three times in the past 2 weeks, I know, really stupid. We used the "pullout" method which I know isn't very effective, my period isn't due for another week and a half, is it too soon to take a pregnancy test?
