Maplestory Auto Assign (Ability Points)?

When people have regular bandits I wonder if they use auto assign or their own method. (other jobs too). How can you make your damage go up for a bandit? Should I just keep using auto assign all the way? Or something else. Same thing with my dual blade. How do I make it do better damage each higher level? Should I use auto assign all the way?
